The Beginning Of Something New
A lot of people have been good to me over the years and I have been lucky enough to meet people who are caring, giving and inspirational. Others have thrown criticism, ridicule, snobbery and violence my way. I have been called an anomaly, liability, arrogant, liar, over-achiever and lazy. But these people underestimated me and I was strong enough to push past their nonsense.
I may not be the most subtle or diplomatic person you’ll ever meet, but I have a sense of right and wrong. And my approach is always direct. I have caught the attention of some haters, who may have mistaken me for a soft touch. But I’ve never put up with their antics and confronted them with either reason or aggression, depending on the circumstances. I stand up to anyone who tries to wipe their feet on me. I may be a lot of things, but a doormat I am not.
I have done my best to show mettle, tenacity and a relentless determination to come through against the odds. By far my biggest test was cancer. It was an enemy I could not see, so I faced it in the darkness and fought for my life. Getting through the disease takes a mixture of having the best medical care, luck and the will to get to the other side. I meet difficult situations head-on and will never back down, ever. It doesn’t matter if I fall along the way, the important thing is I get back up.
That’s it. Thanks for reading.
My blog has left out a lot of other stuff which has happened to me. Some is medical, other bits involve learning how to fight and the rest relates to people I’ve met or a lot more detail about what happened. This additional material has been put together with the blog content to form a book. It is unpublished as a complete work.
Now I intend take a different direction with another blog.
Hi Callum,
Hopefully, you’ll point us in the direction of your new blog before you shut this one down.
Kevin
